Level 2 Provisional License Road Test
Skip the DMV testing lines and earn your license faster with Charlotte Driving Academy’s Road Test.
Our Road Test is designed for students ages 16–17 who are ready to advance from a Level 1 permit to a Level 2 Provisional License in North Carolina. By testing with CDA, students eliminate the need to schedule a road test with the DMV. Instead, once they’ve passed with us, they only need to visit the DMV to process their paperwork and receive their new license.

Additional Information

Can I use a driving school car?
Yes. Your teen may use a Charlotte Driving Academy vehicle for an additional fee. The driver must carry insurance, and we’ll guide you on the coverage required.
What are the requirements to take the road test?
Your teen must be 16–17 years old, have a valid Level 1 Learner’s Permit, schedule the test at least 48 hours in advance, and use a safe vehicle with active insurance.
What happens if I don't pass?
Don’t worry — if your teen doesn’t pass on the first try, they’ll need to wait at least 48 hours before retesting. In the meantime, we’ll point out the skills they should practice so they’re more confident next time.
Can I use my own vehicle?
Yes, you can use your own vehicle as long as it’s insured, registered, and meets DMV safety standards. CDA vehicles are also available for an additional fee.
